AUDREYSOLDAU
LIKE AN YO N E W HO CO M BS SECO N D H A N D ST O R E S,
Audrey Soldau had bumped her shins on plenty of
those classic brown coffee tables with four glass
squares set into the top. This time, itching to use a
vibrantyellow-and-white fabric she’d found at Calico
Corners, Audrey put two and two together to make
four cushions. The result is a pretty and practical
ottoman for her San Diego family room. Husband
Eric pitched in with the coat of white boat paint that
looks like lacquer and calls attention to the table’s
details. “I can change the look with new fabric
whenever I want,” she says.—
